Senior appointments at Kingston Smith Association Management

Kingston Smith Association Management (KSAM), the UK’s largest association management company, is delighted to announce the appointments of Mark Boleat as chairman and Rob Johnson as operations director.

Mark spent 25 years working for major national, European and international trade associations, culminating in his appointment as Director General of the Association of British Insurers (ABI), the largest British trade association. While at the ABI, he was a member of numerous industry committees, including the Finance and General Purposes Committee of the CBI. He also founded the Trade Association Forum.

In 1999, Mark established Boleat Consulting, a consultancy business specialising in trade association strategy and management and the handling of public policy issues. He has helped to establish, merge and reorganise trade associations in a number of sectors and has written several books on trade associations. He has also served on the boards of commercial companies, public bodies and charities, as well as chairing two trade associations and being vice chair of a third. He is currently a member of the Regulatory Policy Committee and Chairman of the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority and the Association of Labour Providers.

Rob Johnson joins KSAM from “Johnnie” Johnson Housing Trust, where he worked as Business Services Manager. His role involved leading on the strategic development and operational delivery of business services, including the marketing communications and ICT strategies for the trust. Prior to this, Rob was business operations manager at Greater Manchester Sports Partnership, a charitable company. There he had managerial responsibility for financial management, marketing, business services and event management.
